I personally was devastated at the result of us leaving the EU.
Also there was the realization that families were very annoyed with each other for the way they voted – assumptions being made about the reasons why people voted the way they did etc.
Anyway – there was a rally planned in Cardiff to try to challenge the Brexit decision – but it was aimed to be a bit of a bringing together of all sides to try to sort it all out.
The rally met outside the New Library on the Hayes – underneath the huge metal circular sculpture – which actually had a massive banner saying “Together Stronger” this was just perfect –(even though it was there advertising the Welsh Football team).
Anyway – fellow NVP leader Sue Ellar asked me to join her and whoever else would like to sing to help to create a more peaceful atmosphere – in case there was any antagonism from anyone at all.
I’m sure it wasn’t needed but I really think that we all felt better ourselves after a good sing – and lots of people walking past responded very positively – some young people from Abergavenny actually joining in with us for a few songs.
We also did miss most of the speeches but am sure we’ll catch up!
